From Rio de Janeiro, Brazil- Rio Carnival 2010 photos are in! Despite the unusually high temperatures, Carnival 2010 went off as planned. The weather cooperated by cooling down a bit over Carnaval weekend, and not a drop of rain came down during the famous Sambadrome Parades.
The gold medal winner of this year's Sambadrome competition was the samba school Unidos da Tijuca, who thrilled the crowds with their "Secrets and Mysteries of Mankind" theme. The samba school Grande Rio finished 2nd, and the perennial favorite Beija-Flor took 3rd place honors. 2009's gold medal winning school Salgueiro could do no better than 5th place this year.
See the video below of the highlights from the Unidos da Tijuca Sambadrome parade, which included Batman skiers and Spidermen climbers!
