What are the very best things to do for just 10 days in Rio? (Oct 2010)

It's been ages since I've been to Brasil, so I wanted to pack in as much as possible in our short time there. What should I do and see?

You can see and enjoy a lot of things in 10 days in Rio. Visit our page that outlines some of our favorite sights and tours.


Also, make sure to spend an afternoon on Ipanema Beach anywhere between Post 8 & 10.

On Sundays, the famous Ipanema Hippie Fair is an experience that you don't want to miss. After visiting the fair, have a Churrasco steak dinner at Caretao, which is across the street from the park where the fair is held .

Although we don't have pages built yet for Santa Teresa, you will want to visit this Bohemian neighborhood for sure. Take the tram up to it from Centro about mid day. Walk around and then have an early dinner. Take a taxi back to your hotel.

Make sure to get to the Lapa neighborhood on a Thursday thru Sunday night, for some Samba music and dancing. Rio Scenarium and Carioca da Gema are fantastic places. Lot's of tourists go. The party really starts after 11pm.
